Introduction from the Section Editors
by Jackie Gotthold and Rosalind Chaplin Kindler

This new Child Therapy section of the Newsletter is in response to a perceived need to provide interested readers with a view of the world of psychoanalytic psychotherapy with children. In this issue we asked child therapists from at home and abroad to write briefly on any issue which they found to be important in their work with children. The results offer us a range of insights into the world of child therapy.

From Germany Eva Maria Topel provides an interesting case vignette concerning the issue of boundaries. From Canada we have two contributors. One from Jacqueline Hanley who writes poignantly about the powerlessness of the young child, and the other a "fairy story" from Janet Morrision, proving that miracles can indeed still happen. From Australia Jeanette Beaufoy offers a quick overview of child therapy training in that part of the world.

We are hopeful this ongoing section will enable all therapists, child and adult, to embrace a more global perspective about our work.
