Editor's Introduction

Christine C. Kieffer, PhD

Dear Readers,

I want to take a moment to introduce myself: I will be the new editor of the newsletter, taking over from my fellow Chicagoan, Allen Siegel. Allen is certainly a tough act to follow, having served as editor for 5 years, and also having helped us move production to an online format. Allen now edits the new online journal, and will also be developing online courses for the organization, with his usual creativity and verve.

I hope that you will enjoy this third issue of the online Self Psychology Newsletter. I believe that you will find many items of interest to you. Please note that the newsletter has been constructed so that you may print a copy on paper, if that is preferable to reading it online. As with last year's edition, just follow the directions that will allow you to print it out.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all those, in addition to Allen, who have helped me with this issue of the newsletter, including my regional editors: Linda Marino, Amy Joelson, Dori Sorter, Judy Pickles, Roz Kindler, Jackie Gotthold, Dennis Shelby and Ron Bodansky. Thanks must also go to Jeff Stern, Shelly Doctors and Nancy Vanderheide for conducting interviews with Arnold Goldberg, Bob Stolorow and Howard Bacal. I also want to thank Jim Fosshage for his confidence in appointing me, and, finally, I want to convey my appreciation to Hope Dector who continues to serve as our webmanager.
