IAPSP Research and Project Grants Guidelines and Application
IAPSP has established a program to support ongoing or start-up
research and clinical/applied project activities of IAPSP members.
IAPSP will announce periodically, as funds permit (no more than once a
year), to its members that applications for financial support of these
projects will be received.
While criteria for assessment of applications will vary, depending on
the nature of the research or clinical/applied project, they will
include: import and relevance to self psychology, originality,
scientific merit, feasibility, evidence of expertise of the applicant
and experience needed to complete the project. IAPSP will decide which
research and clinical projects to support as well as the amounts of the
grants.
The grantee must maintain their membership in IAPSP during the period
that the grantee receives the grant. The grantee is responsible for
the following:
- To use IAPSP funds for the sole purpose of initiating and completing
the approved project.
- To request and itemize on an as-needed-basis specific amounts of the
grant.
- To provide written reports updating the project and the specific use
of funds on a six month basis.
- To provide a final report upon the completion of the project.
Requests and reports are to be emailed to James L. Fosshage, Ph.D.,
Chair of the IAPSP Research Committee
(fosshage@psychoanalysis.net), and
to Nilou Mostofi, IAPSP's administrator (mnilou@km-direct.com). With
the Chair's approval, IAPSP's administrator will distribute the specific
funds to the grantee.
It is the responsibility of IAPSP to distribute and oversee the use
of these grants. If any monies are used for purposes other than the
designated research or clinical program awarded the grant, IAPSP retains
the right to request the return of said monies and to withhold further
distributions of the grant. By accepting the grant, the grantee agrees
to comply with these financial and reporting procedures.

IAPSP Members' Ongoing Research Projects
IAPSP has established the "Committee for Research and Project
Grants." In addition to providing support for IAPSP members' start-up
or ongoing research and/or clinical/applied projects, the Committee
keeps our community informed of members' activities (whether IAPSP
supported or not) on the IAPSP website.
